Tim Tomasik Speaks at CBA Law Day Event

May 3, 2019 - Tim Tomasik, who is currently the Treasurer of the Chicago Bar Association, talked about Law Day and the importance of civility in the courthouse to a crowd that gathered at The Daley Center Plaza for the CBA Law Day event. He emphasized that “professionalism demands that we have respect and dignity for everyone who we intact with in the justice system. Not just judges and jurors, but witnesses, court reporters, staff, opposing counsel, police, parties, and everyone in the courthouse. Without respect and dignity, there cannot be civility; without civility, there will be no respect for lawyers and the legal profession.” Justice Reyes of the Illinois Appellate Court was the Keynote Speaker who talked about how Free Speech, Free Press, Free Society are the cornerstones of representative government.
