Shawn Kasserman to Lead Nonprofit Kids In Danger

CHICAGO, IL, June 22, 2017

Kids In Danger (KID) announces the election of Shawn Kasserman, Partner at Tomasik Kotin Kasserman as the organization’s president. Shawn has been committed to KID’s mission since the early days of the organization. In 1999, he served as counsel to co-founders, Linda Ginzel and Boaz Keysar, in their lawsuit against the manufacturer and licensor of the portable crib that killed their son, Danny.

Shawn was named one of the Top 100 Super Lawyers in Illinois on multiple occasions and throughout his career has been an advocate for families suffering from loss and injuries. In 2013, Shawn was honored with KID’s Best Friend Award for his unique contributions to children’s product safety.

“Carrying the torch of children’s product safety as the President of KID is one of the great privileges and responsibilities with which I have been blessed” Shawn said. “I will lead with dignity and energy worthy of the dedication Linda and Boaz have poured into the memory of their beloved Danny.”

“The dedicated and passionate leadership we have on our Board has kept KID growing over the past 19 years. We look forward to commemorating our 20th anniversary of improving children’s product safety next year,” stated Nancy Cowles, Executive Director.

Linda Ginzel and her husband Boaz Keysar have led KID from the beginning and will continue to work closely with the organization they founded.

“I am confident that Shawn will lead KID admirably into our twentieth anniversary and strengthen our role as a champion for children’s safety,” stated Linda Ginzel.
