January 18, 2024 - Tim Tomasik and Phil Terrazzino prevail a second time in the Illinois Appellate Court against the Chicago Cubs. Our client, Charles Arbogast, is an Associated Press photographer who was injured at a Cubs game in 2018 when he tripped over a stack of pallets that was left on the field. The Cubs wanted to have the case sent to arbitration, but our attorneys argued that the agreement requiring mandatory arbitration was unconscionable. Dozens Injured in Massive Multi-Vehicle Accident in Southern Illinois

May 1, 2023 - On Interstate 55 in Sangamon County and Montgomery County, a multi-vehicle accident occurred that affected dozens of people. The crash has been attributed to a large dust storm that significantly decreased visibility for drivers. This accident took place south of Springfield on the stretch of I-55 between Divernon and Farmersville, and it affected vehicles in both the northbound and southbound lanes. Around 40 to 60 vehicles were involved, and at least two semi-trailer trucks caught fire in the aftermath of the crash. According to the Illinois State Police, more than 30 people have been hospitalized, and there have been multiple fatalities. Read More.

July 5, 2022 - The last few weeks have seen several Amtrak train crashes across the country, including a deadly collision in Missouri when an Amtrak train traveling almost 90 miles per hour hit a dump truck at a crossing. February 19, 2022 - Hundreds of beachgoers enjoying a warm Saturday in Miami Beach, Florida became witnesses to the latest Robinson helicopter to plummet from the sky. Thankfully, they were not also the latest victims of Robinson’s poor design. Video footage startlingly reveals how close the falling R44 came to hitting swimmers just feet away from where the helicopter slammed into the ocean. Read More.

Developing Story: “Substantiated Allegations” Against 13 Adults Related to Sexual Misconduct at Chicago Public School

District officials from the Chicago Public Schools held a news conference this morning to announce that the district’s inspector general has substantiated allegations against more than a dozen adults at a single school involving sexual misconduct. According to reports, 12 employees and one adult volunteer have been relieved of their duties under suspicion that they committed or helped to cover up multiple sexual relationships between some of the adults and students at the school over the last five years.
