Heather is a successful trial attorney at the Chicago law firm of Tomasik Kotin and Kasserman, P.C. where she represents individuals who have been injured due to medical negligence, trucking negligence, car crashes, and other areas of personal injury law.

She started her career at the prestigious law firm of Clifford Law Offices, P.C., where she represented individuals and families in matters involving catastrophic injuries or wrongful death. She gained valuable experience in honing her writing and trial advocacy skills. Heather represented clients at another Chicago law firm where she continued to serve as an advocate for her clients, including individuals who were involved in injuries involving the CTA and construction negligence. Later in her career, Heather worked as a defense attorney representing medical providers and facilities in matters involving medical negligence, including birth injuries, and allegations of surgical error. She has a unique perspective gained by successfully trying medical malpractice and personal injury cases on behalf of both the plaintiff and the defendant.

Heather’s hard work on behalf of victims of negligence has resulted in multi-million-dollar verdicts and settlements. She provides her clients with straightforward advice and keeps them informed of the status of their cases in a compassionate and clear manner.

Heather is married and the proud mother of two daughters. She attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she received her Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies. She received her law degree from DePaul University College of Law.

Heather was named one of the “40 Under Forty Illinois Attorneys to Watch” by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company in 2010. She was honored to be selected as a “Rising Star” by Thomson Reuters between 2012 – 2017. Heather has received awards from the Leading Lawyers Network, including selection as an “Emerging Lawyer” in 2017 and as a “Leading Lawyer” in 2018, 2019, and 2020.
