Lyft Discloses Sexual Assault Data
Three years after it publicly promised to release data disclosing sexual assaults on its platform, rideshare giant Lyft has finally made those numbers public.
This story from CNN reported that Lyft disclosed 4,158 reports of sexual assault in 2017, 2018, and 2019, 360 of which were reports of rape. These tragic, but unsurprising numbers are the continuous result of rideshare companies prioritizing profits above safety.
Lyft has not committed to releasing any further data.
