Shawn Kasserman Introduces Senator Duckworth at Casten Campaign Event

October 30, 2018 - Last Sunday, TKK’s Founding Partner Shawn Kasserman introduced Senator Tammy Duckworth at an event for US congressional candidate Sean Casten in his race in Illinois' 6th District.

The Chicago Tribune revealed last week that the Chemical Industry lobby backs Casten’s opponent, incumbent Peter Roskam, including purchasing a $209,000 pro-Roskam TV ad to thank Roskam two months before the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency released a report revealing that communities surrounding the Sterigenics facility in Willowbrook are among just a few dozen in the country facing alarmingly high cancer risks. Casten, a scientist and clean energy entrepreneur, contends the chemical industry’s support of Roskam shows he is beholden to Washington lobbyists and out of touch with his constituents in the 6th District.
