Tim Tomasik Moderates Panel with Judges on Proper Use of Party Statements
Attorney Tim Tomasik served as a moderator for the Chicago Bar Association's webinar about successfully using statements of party-opponents at trial. Along with distinguished Cook County Circuit Court Judges Clare E. McWilliams and Lorna E. Propes, Tim presented to the group about Illinois Rule of Evidence 801(d)(2).
Rule 801(d)(2) provides that statements offered against a party by the party itself are not hearsay and are therefore admissible in court. Mr. Tomasik presented about the importance of using the rule to your advantage at trial, obtaining admissions from agents of a party, and publishing deposition testimony at trial.
