Tomasik Kotin Kasserman, LLC is Filing Suit on Behalf of Passengers Injured in an Amtrak Collision

July 5, 2022

Train Crash Attorneys

The last few weeks have seen several Amtrak train crashes across the country, including a deadly collision in Missouri when an Amtrak train traveling almost 90 miles per hour hit a dump truck at a crossing. Four people were killed, including the driver of the truck and three passengers on the train, and about 150 were transported to hospitals for their injuries. Tomasik Kotin Kasserman, LLC is filing suit on behalf of passengers injured in that crash.

The local community had previously raised concerns about the safety of the crossing. Additionally, the crossing was uncontrolled, meaning there were no flashing lights or gates to alert drivers of an oncoming train.

Train crashes often lead to catastrophic injuries or death, resulting in devastating impacts for victims and their families. Our attorneys are national leaders in litigation involving mass disasters and transportation injuries. Attorney Dan Kotin was a member of the trial team that obtained $29.6 million for a woman who suffered catastrophic injuries from a Metra train derailment, setting a record for the largest verdict in Illinois for an individual injured in a mass transit crash. He also obtained $43 million in combined settlements on behalf of passengers injured in a commuter train crash.

If you or someone you know have suffered injuries as a result of a train derailment or crash – be it Amtrak, Metra, CTA, or any private railroad company – please contact our office today at 312-605-8800.
